Average net earnings increased 10% to HUF 519,900, while real earnings grew 8.6%.
Net earnings rose faster than gross wages partly because of expanded family tax allowances and tax benefits for mothers.
KSH cited the higher family tax allowance introduced on Jan. 1, 2026, alongside personal income tax exemptions for mothers raising three children, effective from Oct. 1, 2025, and mothers under 40 raising two children, introduced on Jan. 1, 2026. An expansion of the tax allowance for mothers under 30 also contributed.
Regular Earnings Increase 7.6%
Regular average gross earnings, excluding premiums and one-month bonuses, rose 7.6% year-on-year to HUF 710,600.
In the business sector, regular gross earnings increased 7.2% to HUF 704,200. The budgetary sector recorded an 8.9% rise to HUF 721,400, while earnings in the nonprofit sector grew 7.9% to HUF 742,000.
Real earnings increased 8.6%, with consumer prices up 1.3% compared with August 2025.
Median gross earnings rose 8.5% to HUF 611,400, while median net earnings increased 9.9% to HUF 433,400.
