Insurers' Premium Revenue up 6% in 2023

Hungarian insurers' revenue from premiums rose 6% to HUF 1.509 trillion in 2023, according to data released by the National Bank of Hungary (MNB) on its website.

Revenue from premiums on life insurance policies rose 6% to HUF 571 billion. Revenue from premiums on general insurance policies climbed 15% to HUF 938 bln.

Revenue from premiums on compulsory vehicle insurance increased 12% to HUF 307 bln, while revenue from premiums on comprehensive vehicle policies rose 21% to HUF 164 bln.

The revenue from premiums on home policies increased 15% to HUF 191 bln. Insurers' after-tax profit fell 40% to HUF 21 bln during the period.
