For the full year in 2023, passenger numbers at the airport stood at 14,701,100, MTI reported citing KSH data.
The fresh data show passenger numbers in the second quarter came to 4,414,500.
U.K. Flights Account for Most Passengers
Passengers on U.K. flights accounted for the largest number (581,300).
U.K. flights were followed by ones on flights to and from Italy (553,400) and Germany (465,100). The number of passengers on Chinese flights was close to 70,300, according to the report.
As the Budapest Business Journal reported earlier, AviAlliance and the co-shareholders of Budapest Airport Zrt. sold the airport to a consortium consisting of the Hungarian state-owned Corvinus Zrt. and the French co-investor Vinci Airports this summer.
