It was the lowest reading since June 2021. Prices rose for; food & non-alcoholic beverages (1.8%), alcoholic beverages & tobacco (3.6%), furnishings, household equipment & routine household maintenance (1.5%), health (5.1%), transport (3%), communication (1%), restaurants & hotels (9.6%), and miscellaneous goods & services (4%).
In addition, costs also increased for clothing & footwear (2.2%), while prices fell for housing & utilities (-0.3%).
On a monthly basis, consumer prices stalled in June, following a 0.1% rise in the previous month.
Measured by the EU-harmonized index of consumer prices, or HICP, prices of goods and services increased by an average 3.5% year-on-year in June.
On a monthly comparison basis, HICP rose by 0.8% in June.
