Hungary’s Organica, which designs and builds organic waste water treatment systems, has completed the first phase of a research and development project in the Chinese city of Shenzhen.
In the first two years of the project, Organica’s experts completed an assessment of the city’s existing waste water treatment system, drew up a plan to improve it and built two of its own organic treatment systems.
Now decisions can be taken on which of the city’s existing 27 waste water treatment plants Organica can build the organic systems.
Based on the success of Organica’s activities in Shenzhen, which has a population of 15m, the technology could be adopted all over China, Organica said.
