Marketline boasts Ft 23 bln turnover in 2005

Marketline, the business-to-business internet auction service of T-Online Rt, the ISP unit of Hungary's incumbent telco Magyar Telekom Nyrt, managed 433 auctions with a combined turnover of Ft 23 billion in 2005, 20%-25% more than a year earlier, product manager Ákos Kriston said on Tuesday.

Each auction was used by as many as 2,500 vendors and buyers. The average purchase was for more than Ft 10 million.
Marketline has been operating since 2002, making possible deals worth Ft 100 billion and saving buyers a combined Ft 15 billion, Kriston said. He declined to say how much revenue the service generated, or how much would be spent on developments.
