GVH said Titász raised the fees between March and September 2004 by an amount well exceeding its related costs, investments and yields, as compared to the rest of the energy sector. When determining the size of the fine, GVH took into consideration that E.ON Titász had voluntarily ceased the price rises.
E.ON Titász is Hungary’s biggest electricity distributor in terms of area covered. One of six electricity distributors, it provides power to 20% of Hungary’s cities and towns.
