The building, known as Postapalota (post palace), was sold with a deliberately disadvantageous financial outcome for Magyar Posta, the paper said, quoting an independent expert opinion commissioned by the state-owned postal service.
Magyar Posta sold the complex in 2008 after renting out another base in 2007. The expert report points out that the calculations on which the sale and rental decisions are based on are completely obscure.
A prosecution process has been ongoing for a year, but no suspect’s have been charged yet. The damage caused is estimated to reach several billions of forints.
