The number of guest nights spent by visitors at tourism accommodations in Hungary reached 21.3 million in the year to July 18, climbing close to 8% from the same period in 2023, the Hungarian Tourism Agency said on Thursday.
The number spent by foreign visitors reached 10.7 million during the period and the number spent by domestic travelers stood at 10.6 million, Hungarian news agency MTI reports.
The number of visitors at tourism accommodations increased 12% to 8.8 million during the period.
Guest nights in the capital came close to 8 million and included 6.7 million spent by foreign tourists.
In the month since the start of the school holiday, guest nights reached 5.6 million. Those included 4.3 million booked at destinations other than the capital, Budapest.
