According to a release published on the website of the Budapest Stock Exchange, the affirmation reflects Magyar Telekom’s” strong market position in Hungary’s mobile and fixed internet sectors, as well as its healthy business and financial risk profiles.

The review ensures the company’s compliance with the Bond Funding for the Growth Scheme run by the National Bank of Hungary.

Separately, Erste Bank’s telecommunications sector analyst downgraded MTel shares from “buy” to “hold,” citing the end of a major profit growth cycle.

While earnings are expected to remain high, growth is likely to slow to single digits.

Still, dividends could rise dynamically, from an estimated HUF 136 this year to HUF 165 and HUF 190 in the coming years, alongside share buybacks.

The analyst raised t he target price to HUF 2,050 from HUF 1,940, noting that while MTel has strong free cash flow relative to peers, upside potential is limited.
