MNB governor Mihály Varga said the agreement would contribute to Hungary’s sustainable economic development.
He noted that a number of European Union regulations that aimed to support green financing and the inclusion of sustainability factors in lenders’ risk management processes would come into force soon.
He said the MNB had drafted a unified ESG questionnaire and would work to ensure there was no overlap in data provision.
Varga said the cooperation aimed to improve the efficiency of gaming oversight and strengthen compliance, especially with regard to online gaming.
He added that the partnership would also encourage the safe and broader use of crypto assets. SZTFH head László Nagy said the sides would cooperate on drafting legal initiatives as well as organising conferences and seminars.
