The rate on preferential Széchenyi Card credit for corporate investments will be reduced from 5% to 3.5% from November 1, the state secretary for SMEs said at a press conference on Monday.
Richárd Szabados noted that the reduction was included in a package of measures recently approved by the government to boost economic growth. He added that eight of the package’s 21 measures targeted SMEs.
Close to 177,000 contracts for some HUF 5.8 tln of credit have been signed in the framework of the Szechenyi Card program over the past four years.
In the past 20 months, almost 62,000 contracts have been signed for HUF 2.3 tln.
Over 20% of the credit in the scheme is used for investments, but the aim is to boost that ratio, Szabados said.
From November 11, guarantor Garantiqa will waive the surety fees on the credit.
