This was approximately 5.2% less than in the same period a year earlier, the Energy Ministry said on Wednesday.
Household gas consumption fell 10% and consumption at public institutions declined 2.8%, the ministry said, citing data from the Central Statistical Office collected from state-owned energy group MVM.
Electricity consumption in Hungary rose 1.7% to 30.5 TWh.
Home solar panels generated about 7.3% of electricity consumed.
