The majority of illegal border crossers, 4,171, who were registered by police involved the Croatian-Hungarian border, while 83 illegal border crossings were registered at the Serbian-Hungarian border, where Hungary has built a fence as a “temporary measure” to prevent asylum seekers from entering the country.
On Tuesday a total of 6,644 “illegal border crossings” into Hungary were registered, 6,496 on the Croatian-Hungarian border, and 145 on the Serbian-Hungarian border.
On Monday, a total of 5,335 “illegal border crossings” into Hungary were registered – 5,224 on the Croatian border and 110 on the Serbian border.
Data from the Hungarian Police revealed that a total of 291,618 “illegal migrants” have been recorded entering the country since the beginning of the year.
