Hungary Sunflower Seed Harvest Reaches 2 mln Tonnes

Hungarian farmers have harvested 2m tonnes of sunflower seed this year, Agriculture Ministry state secretary Zsolt Feldman said on Tuesday, citing data from the National Agriculture Chamber, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

Last year, the sunflower seed harvest was close to 1.3 mln tonnes, data from the Central Statistical Office (KSH) show.

Feldman said this year's soybean harvest came to 177,000 tonnes and the potato harvest reached 161,000 tonnes.

Last year, the soybean harvest was 134,000 tonnes, and the potato harvest was 199,000 tonnes, KSH data show.
