The investment group’s portfolio companies generated HUF 717 bln in revenue, with nearly 60% of that coming from international markets.
Founded and owned by Tibor Veres, the 35-year-old investment group has seen revenue climb 41% over the past three years. Wallis Group’s portfolio includes operations in real estate, vehicle sales, mobility services, retail, and specialty flooring across 17 European countries, including major markets like Germany and Poland. The steady growth in international revenue, which overtook domestic earnings in 2023, underscores the group’s increasingly global footprint.
According to Gyula Mező, CEO of Wallis Asset Management Zrt., the group’s stable year-on-year growth and high profitability reflect a resilient and diversified business model.
According to him, these trends indicate the group’s reliable, diversified operations and validate the effectiveness of the management’s investment and portfolio strategies, even in a challenging economic environment.
Real estate developer Wing Group, a core part of Wallis’s portfolio, contributed the most to earnings, closing 2024 with HUF 198 bln in revenue and HUF 69 bln in EBITDA. Wing raised EUR 50 mln through a bond issuance in April 2024 and another EUR 65 mln in May 2025, both of which were oversubscribed. Its Polish subsidiaries, Echo Investment and Archicom, are listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, while the company also owns a nearly 60% stake in Germany’s Bauwert AG.
AutoWallis Group, which operates in vehicle sales and mobility services, also posted strong 2024 results. The company, listed on the Prime Market of the Budapest Stock Exchange, reported HUF 398 bln in revenue and HUF 20 bln in EBITDA. It represents 29 brands across 16 regional markets. As part of its strategy through 2028, AutoWallis aims to double its 2023 performance, targeting 100,000 car sales, HUF 750 bln in revenue, HUF 40 bln in EBITDA, and HUF 25 bln in pre-tax profit by that time.
Praktiker, the home improvement retail chain acquired by Wallis in 2016, generated HUF 88.1 bln in revenue last year and posted HUF 3 bln in EBITDA. The company expanded its footprint in Hungary, opening additional stores in Székesfehérvár, Debrecen, and most recently in Veszprém. Its nationwide network now includes 23 stores totaling nearly 140,000 sqm, with a market share of 31.8% as of 2024.
Also in the group’s portfolio is Graboplast, the largest independent specialty flooring manufacturer in Central and Eastern Europe. The company, which turns 120 this year, posted HUF 20 bln in turnover and HUF 2 bln in EBITDA in 2024. Graboplast recently signed a strategic partnership with China’s Enlio Group to distribute sports flooring products in the Chinese market.
