One-fifth of employed Hungarians avail of family taxation scheme

About one-fifth of employed Hungarians availed of a family taxation scheme in January, saving HUF 12 billion in personal income tax, the National Economy Ministry told MTI, quoting fresh data from the tax authority.

Almost 700,000 employees availed of the scheme, introduced at the start of the year. They saved HUF 16,000 on average.

The ministry expects up to 900,000 employees to use the scheme by year-end, saving a combined HUF 150 billion.
