The number of legal procedures related to tenders launched in 2010 came to 1,011, up 17.1% from the previous year, Gajdos said.
Gajdos said the decreasing value of public procurement procedures can be explained by narrowing budgetary and market funds. The year 2009 saw 25 procedures worth HUF 10 billion each, compared to 15 in 2010.
The average value of procurements fell to HUF 140 million in 2010 from HUF 274 million a year before.
About 66% of public procurement procedures were open. Public procedures were responsible for 47% of the combined value, 23% were negotiated procedures and 25% were basic procedures.
