Adjusted retail sales volume for the EU-25 increased 2.7% year-on-year in June. June retail sales in Hungary rose 0.4% from May, according to seasonally and workday-adjusted data.
Retail sales totaled Ft 501.8 billion (€1.952 billion) in June at current prices. In the first half of 2006, retail sales increased a calendar year-adjusted 5.3% year-on-year in volume terms to total Ft 2,657.4 billion at current prices.
In line with EU methodology, the figures do not include sales of vehicles, vehicle parts or fuel. Retail fuel sales volume rose 9.3% year-on-year in June and 10.8% year-on-year in January-June. Sales of cars and car parts were down 1.8% in June and were up 6.2% in January-June compared to the same respective periods a year earlier. Retail sales, including cars, components and fuel, increased 3.3% year-on-year in June and 6% in January-June.
