The Budapest Stock Exchange’s main BUX index opened down 0.15% at 17,286.53 on Thursday.
OTP Bank fell 0.32% to HUF 3,400, oil and gas company MOL rose 0.30% to HUF 16,950, drug maker Richter lost 0.51% to HUF 35,200 and Magyar Telekom dropped 0.59% to HUF 509.
Trader Imre Mohos of Buda-Cash Brokerage said the optimism could continue on the BSE on Thursday, although it could be more subdued than yesterday, and any minor negative news could break the positive sentiment.
The BUX closed up 1.76% at 17,311.68 on Wednesday, on turnover of HUF 16.58bn.
