The Bodri familiy winery unveiled a new domed cellar in Szekszárd (SW Hungary). A grant from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development covered half of the cost of the investment, cellar director István Bodri said.
The 1,800-sqm cellar cost HUF 500 million and raises the Bodri’s storage capacity to 400,000 bottles. Another HUF 230 million went toward technology upgrades, including a bottler that can fill 3,000 units an hour.
Bodri grows grapes on 25 hectares and produces 150,000 bottles of wine a year. It had revenue of HUF 150 million in 2010, which the new cellar is expected to increase by 15%, Bodri said.
