Although traditional administration has been hampered by the pandemic, data shows that the popularity of mobile banking has been growing for years. Two years ago, only 13% of those surveyed used such an app, a rate that by 2020 had reached 56%.
In terms of age group, young people (18-34 years old) are the most active, around 65%, but this figure is also close to 50% in the oldest age group studied (50-64 years old).
"A service provider who makes such innovative features available to his [or her] customers can easily gain a competitive advantage," said Endre Eölyüs, Mastercard's director for Hungary and Slovenia.
