Citing its sources, the paper said that the transformation could start with Fazekas, as a series of recent events have not been in his favor. The daily says that, although “it is very unlikely”, his involvement with the recent Kun-Mediator scandal could be brought into question by opposition parties, given that prior to his becoming minister, Fazekas was the major of Karcag, the former home of Kun-Mediator.
One of the background institutions of Fazekas’ ministry, TIG Nonprofit Kft., invested HUF 410 mln in Hungária Értékpapír Zrt., a boutique brokerage which recently became insolvent, the paper said, adding that the minister said in a public announcement that all monies invested “were gone”.
