According to ingatlan.com, while between 2006 and 2014 the most expensive properties were typically advertised in District II on the Buda side of the capital, the last couple of years have seen luxury homes in downtown Pest surpass even Rózsadombʼs fancy villas in terms of price.

The survey names what are now considered Pestʼs most expensive addresses in terms of residential property, among them Vörösmarty tér, Apáczai Csere János utca, Kossuth Lajos utca and Galamb utca.

The list also includes Remetehegyi út in District III in Buda, which runs parallel with Bécsi út on the hillside above St. Margit Hospital. Other addresses in Buda that remain highly desirable include Orom utca in District I and Józsefhegyi utca in District II. Beside the Danube on the Pest side, homes on streets such as Lechner Ödön fasor and Marina sétány are also attracting high prices.

The survey attributes the growing popularity of District V to a number of factors, among them the increasing value of residential properties closer to the center in recent years, as well as the growing role of the district as a focus of foreignersʼ real estate purchases for investment purposes.
