The winning entries were Biggeorge’s NV’s Bécsi Corner office building and the Corvin Promenade venture of Futureal. Bécsi Corner was declared the best refurbished historic building, while Corvin emerged the winner among special complex projects. The silver went to the DVM group’s Eiffel office building, which took second place among office entries.
FIABCI, which was established in 1950, presents the awards for the best real estate ventures since 1992. Hungarian companies have been competing for 12 years now. This year’s entries were evaluated by 42 property experts from 27 countries.
Bécsi Corner is situated in the Óbuda district of Budapest and was built through refurbishing and renovating a school building from the 19th century. The building is currently 70% let with the developer expecting to make a major rental announcement shortly.
DVM’s Eiffel Tér is a 22,000-square-meter office building in a frequented Budapest location, next to the city’s busy western (Nyugati) train station. The house has been recognized for its environmentally friendly design and is now 90% let.
Futureal’s Corvin project is the biggest city rehabilitation project in the region, currently being developed in an area of the capital that was in a state of dilapidation. It consists of office towers, residential buildings developed by the Futureal group’s home development division Cordia as well as a shopping center that was earlier sold to France’s Ségécé.
