The 3 floor, 400 square meter area passive building will stand in Fótliget, between Fót and Budapest. Passive houses hardly let any heat escape through walls and windows. The heat of outgoing air is transferred to incoming fresh air. Passive houses need 1.5 liters of heating oil per square meter a year, against an average 25 liter consumption in older houses and 10-12 liter in more modern buildings, architect László Szekér said.
A temperature of 18 degrees Celsius is guaranteed inside the building, window-radiators will be powered by solar panels. The office building costs net Ft 200,000 per square meter – no more expensive than a traditional office building.
