Despite this slowing trend the output of the sector rose for the seventeenth month in a row. The workday-adjusted figure was the same as the unadjusted one.
According to month-on-month comparison, output was actually down by 7.5% from May to June, following May’s increase of 1.8% to April.
The output of both main groups of construction rose in June. The construction of buildings grew by 2.4% year-on-year after growing by 17.6% in May.
The construction of civil engineering works showed a growth of 18 % year-on-year, boosted by railway and road construction works and by public utility works.
Based on seasonally adjusted indices, the construction of buildings decreased month-on-month by 8.4 % – as opposed to a monthly rise of 7 % in May – and that of civil engineering works lowered by 1.4%.
In the first half of the year, output for the whole construction was up 22.8 % year-on-year ; building construction output rose by 13.3% and civil engineering output increased by 34.2%.
