Compared to December 2019, the output of the two main groups of construction developed inversely: the construction of buildings rose by 15.1% and civil engineering fell by 16.5%.
Out of the divisions of construction, output volume increased by 0.8% in the construction of buildings it went down by 19.1% in civil engineering while specialized construction activities grew by 13.1%, KSH notes.
The volume of new contracts concluded increased by 6.1%, within it the volume of new contracts for the construction of buildings grew by 3.5%, the volume regarding civil engineering works rose by 8.8%.
The volume of the November end-of-month stock of contracts at construction enterprises was 7.8% higher than at the end of December 2019. The volume of contracts increased by 60.8% for the construction of buildings and decreased by 11% for civil engineering works compared to the previous year.
In the 4th quarter, construction producer prices rose by 6.3% compared to Q4 2019. Within the divisions of construction, prices increased by 5.8% in the construction of buildings, by 6.5% in civil engineering and by 6.6% in the greatest weight-carrying specialized construction activities, compared to the 4th quarter of 2019.
The 4th quarter’s construction prices were 1.1% higher than in Q3 2020.
Construction output down 9.1% in 2020
Compared to 2019, construction output lessened by 9.1% in 2020, within it the construction of buildings was down by 5.7% and civil engineering by 13.1%.
