The number of unemployed persons declined sharply by 10.6% month-on-month to 88,327. Meanwhile, the number of employed persons grew by 2% to 1.69 million, and the size of the labor force rose by 1.3% to 1.78 million. In May 2023, the jobless rate was higher at 5.6%.
In another statement, the Zagreb-based statistics agency said, that Croatia's average net monthly wage totaled EUR 1,323 in April, up 13.7% on the year in real terms. In March, the average net monthly salary was 12.7% higher year-on-year in real terms.
On a monthly comparison basis, the average net monthly wage in April was 0.9% lower in real terms, after it rose 5.4% in March. The average gross monthly salary amounted to EUR 1,830 in April, up by a real 14.1% year-on-year and lower by 0.9% on the month.
