Some 60% of respondents to the survey, presented at a conference in Budapest on Thursday, said competitive remuneration was the number one reason for switching employers.

A congenial work environment and home-workplace proximity were next in terms of importance.

Around 49% of respondents said they commuted to work on a daily basis, although 80% of commutes were under one hour.

About 59% suggested working remotely from home was a solution to long commutes. The survey results were based on a representative sample of 2,000 people between the ages of 18 and 64.
