2,800 Vacant Teacher Positions Before School Year Starts

There is barely a month left until the start of the school year, but the public sector job search site is still looking for applicants for more than 2,800 vacant teacher positions, writes the left-leaning daily newspaper Népszava.

As of August 5, some 1,354 ads could be found on the Közigállás Portal by searching for the word “teacher,” as well as 927 ads for the word “pedagogue”.

Meanwhile, there were some 520 ads for the word “teacher assistant,” and another 83 ads for the words “pedagogical assistant” according to the paper.

After the end of the school year in June, there were about 4,000 advertisements on the site based on the above search terms.

This means that most vacancies have not yet been filled, the report notes.
