MOL said it had found gas and condensate in three formations, producing about 3,800, 3,000 and 3,500 barrels of oil equivalent per day, respectively.
A production strategy for the discoveries is taking shape.
As an 8.4% stakeholder, MOL’s share of the production will come to 400-800 boepd, accounting for 1% of MOL Group’s entire hydrocarbon production.
According to the statement, MOL Pakistan has been operating in Pakistan since 1999 as a wholly owned subsidiary of the MOL Group.
The company has interests in 4 blocks, and is present as an operator in the TAL and Margalla Blocks.
MOL first found hydrocarbons in Pakistan in 2002 and has since announced 13 commercial hits, most recently in 2020 in the TAL Block.
Since entering the Pakistani market, MOL has found more than 400 million bpd of proven and inferred (2P) reserves in the TAL Block, which, as operator, is responsible for gross production of 65,000 bpd.
Its joint corporate partners are the local oil and gas companies OGDCL, PPL, POL and GHPL.
