Travel agency Malév Air Tours (MAT) has withdrawn a legal challenge against the results of a state tender under duress, reports in Hungarian business dailies Napi Gazdaság and Világgazdaság on Wednesday suggest. MAT managing director Péter Takács told Világgazdaság that the company contested the decision, but then retracted because of an anonymous letter it received. He declined to reveal any further details, but said the company was considering filing a criminal complaint. MAT was the only bidder in the tender who did not win part of the HUF 8.4 billion contract. The winners of the 24-month contracts for travel by state officials were OTP Travel, Weco-Travel (formerly Chemol Travel) and IBUSz.
