Rostekhnologii was established by a Russian presidential decree in November 2007 on the basis of arms exporter Rosoboronexport’s assets to promote the development, production and export of high-tech industrial products. “In the first stage, Rostekhnologii could become the owner of a controlling stake in AuRUnion,” Alexander Misharin said. “But at the second stage, as a result of an additional share issue or IPO, the company could reduce its share.”
Five air carriers, namely KrasAir, Samara Airlines, Omskavia, Domodedovo Airlines and Sibaviatrans, will be united into AiRUnion. Their total passenger throughput in 2007 was 3.6 million, which would make AiRUnion Russia’s third largest air carrier. (rian.ru)
