About 2,736,400 passengers arrived or departed from Liszt Ferenc International Airport Budapest during the summer months, edging up 4,000 to reach pre-crisis levels, operator Budapest Airport said on Thursday.
Passenger numbers in January-August climbed by half a million to 5.9m from the same period a year earlier. The number was up more than 130,000 from January-August 2007, the year before the crisis.
London remains the most popular destination for Budapest flights, accounting for more than 10% of passenger numbers. In second place is Paris, almost head to head with Frankfurt in third.
