The airline now operates two daily flights from Vienna to London City Airport, enabling passengers to save time and avoid larger, more congested airports. The carrier has also begun three daily flights from Vienna to Europe’s sixth largest city, Bucharest, and daily flights to Sibiu, Romania – recently named as the European Cultural Capital for 2007. This follows the airline’s recent expansion of its Eastern European network, and the addition of seven new destinations in Russia, six in Ukraine, five in Romania and three in Czech Republic. “Vienna is at the heart of Europe which enables travelers to link up to a comprehensive network and easily travel west to the UK or East to the rapidly expanding Eastern European markets,” said Tina Badalati, Australian marketing executive for Austrian Airlines.
