It is the largest decrease for a December month ever, as the second wave of the pandemic dragged sales of auto fuel down by 23.5% and sales of non-food by 14.1%. In contrast, food sales went up 1.4%.
On a monthly comparison basis, retail sales turnover edged up 0.1% in December, after declining by 4.3% in the previous month. In the full year of 2020, retail sales fell 9.7%.
