It was the largest decrease since April 2020, mainly due to a steep fall in retail trade for automotive fuel (-30.9%).
Moreover, trade also went down for food, beverages & tobacco by 3.7%) and fell for non-food products by 5.4%.
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, retail sales declined 2.6%, a third consecutive decline, after a 5.3% drop in May.
