In order to ensure that only products worthy of users' attention were included in the campaign, only sellers with a rating of 90% or better were allowed to participate in the online marketplace's Black Friday promotion.

Collectibles generated 63% more sales than last year, Vatera says. This category does not include traditional antiques, but rather old postcards, stamps, minerals, posters, newspapers, comics, and toys popular with collectors – all things that are not really available in a traditional online shop. During Vatera's three-day campaign, nearly HUF 50 million worth of relics changed hands in the collectors' category alone.

Books and Records Also Sold Well

Black Friday sales of cameras and photographic accessories more than doubled. Sales of books were almost a fifth higher on Vatera Black Friday, while sales of music publications (records, cassettes, sheet music, DVDs), computer equipment, and computer parts and accessories were up by almost 60% compared to this time last year.

Sales of new and second-hand sports equipment increased one and a half times on this year's Black Friday, while sales of tools and garden accessories generated a third higher turnover, while sales of films on DVD, VHS, or Blu-ray were a 10th higher than last year.
