Sales of newspapers and books decreased by 17.8% last month in year-on-year terms, and those of furniture, household appliances, and consumer electronics fell by 15.2%.
Meanwhile, sales of food, beverages, and tobacco products went down by 4.6%, and those of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics decreased by 1.8%. Sales of solid, liquid & gaseous fuels also fell by 20.7%.
In terms of current prices, retail sales last month were 4.8% higher than in March 2022, the statistics agency said.
On a monthly comparison basis, retail sales went up by 14%, rebounding sharply from a 3.6% fall in February.
