Hungarian business online daily napigazdaság.hu yesterday reported that NAV started investigating Hungary-based companies with American interests. The site suggested that American officials were planning to retaliate for what they considered to be irregularities in the investigation.
According to index.hu, NAV chairwoman Ildikó Vida, one of her deputies and another leading official were blacklisted today. Asked for information by index.hu, NAV refused to answer, though they did not deny the news.
According to atv.hu, ten Fidesz politians became person non grata in the U.S. One of them told atv.hu, that the American embassy in Hungary summoned him to tell him that his multiple-entry visa had been revoked.
Index.hu reported that Fidesz sources speculate that the issues of the Norway Funds caused the blaklisting.
