According to the CEO, the “migrant crisis” generated a “great number of additional tasks for MÁV, although the biggest problem was the resulting unpredictability of rail travel”, MTI reported.
Additional costs were the result of overtime duty, extra charges and cleaning costs, the CEO said, according to MTI.
“Railway staff who assisted in the management of the crisis will be awarded HUF 20,000 in vouchers, much the same as the soldiers who pitched in,” she said according to the news agency.
