It was the first decline in retail sales since February 2021, amid decreases in sales of automotive fuel in specialized stores (-6.9% vs 3.8% in May), food, beverages and tobacco (-7.1% vs -5.0%), and non-food products (-0.3% vs 3.3%).

On a monthly basis, retail sales dropped 1.2%, after an upwardly revised 3.9% rise in May.
