GVH found that Adevinta had implemented an exclusive package since April 2018 that hindered market competition by crowding out rivals or preventing their entry.
The Norwegian-owned company was found to have violated both Hungarian and EU competition regulations.
The fine was imposed on hasznaltauto.hu, which took over the platform’s operation in the fall of 2023, and is the legal successor of Adevinta.
In response, Használtautó.hu Kft. said yesterday that Adevinta had already terminated the disputed practice during GVH’s investigation.
The company added that Hasznaltauto.hu had returned to Hungarian ownership in 2023 after being acquired by Hungarian real estate listing firm ingatlan.com.
