The closest to the result from 2019 was September this year, where the difference was only 2%, PAP said as quoted by the Warsaw Business Journal.
Spending, however, is not falling, according to the report. In May-September 2021, there was an increase in turnover or a minimal decrease compared to the corresponding periods of 2019, a CBRE report showed. Experts indicate that customer visits to shopping centers are currently more focused on the purpose of purchasing than before the pandemic, hence the entire market is not slowing down.
"Poles now prefer to go to the shopping center less often, but for larger purchases. The importance of retail parks has also increased, especially in smaller cities. It is this format that dominates this year if we look at the supply," Mariusz Majkowski, director of the rental department commercial CBRE, said.
