Within the group, turnover of the Coop chain of shops, climbed around 1.6% to HUF 530 bln.
The group includes 2,100 supermarkets in some 1,400 settlements, CO-OP Hungary CEO Géza Tóth said.
Close to 770 Coop shops are fitted with solar panels, which generate sufficient energy to cover 23% of the Group’s electricity needs.
More than 570 of the chain’s shops take part in the collection of used cooking oil.
Coop’s biggest franchise shops – with an area of at least 350 sqm – had revenue of HUF 49 bln within the group’s revenue last year.
