Bosch is seeking to establish its third largest automated transport development center in Hungary, preceded by Stuttgart and Palo Alto, Dirk Hoheisel, member of the board of Robert Bosch GmbH said. He added that Bosch spends 10% of its turnover on research and development.
The companyʼs Budapest-located development center currently employs 1,3000, including 800 engineers, Oliver Schatz, senior vice president of Robert Bosch Kft said. He noted that the company is planning to further expand the campus.
The groupʼs nine subsidiaries employ 10,500 people in five locations in Hungary, with 700 engineers having been hired in the past four years, representative of the Bosch group in Hungary Javier Gonzalez Pareja said. He added that another 700 experts could be employed by the end of this year. He noted that the company increased its R&D spending in Hungary by 26% to HUF 24 bln last year.
At the beginning of this year, Pareja was recognized as the most important foreign CEO in Hungary at a gala which presented the first annual BBJ/HIPA Expat CEO Awards.
