Among the main industrial groups, manufacturing output grew 43.2% yearly in May and production of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply grew 9%.
Meanwhile, production of mining and quarrying declined 2.7%. On a seasonally adjusted basis, industrial production fell 2.4% monthly in May.
In a separate report, the Bratislava-based statistics agency said that the country's construction output advanced 4.4% annually in May, following an 8.4% jump in the previous month. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, construction activity shrank by 1.7%.
