It was the sixth straight month of contraction, as output continued to drop for manufacturing (-5.2% vs -2.2% in March) and slowed for mining & quarrying (0.5% vs 2.5%).
On the other hand, production decreased less for electricity, gas, steam & air-conditioning (-5.4% vs -14.3%).
On a monthly basis, industrial output fell 0.8%, reversing a 0.1% growth in the previous two months.
