The investment included the launch of a new production line and marks an important milestone for both the local community and the company’s global supply chain transformation, TMICC said.
The Veszprém plant is one of the strategically important sites in TMICC’s European manufacturing network. The facility can produce 230 million products a year and supplies the Hungarian and European markets with brands including Magnum, Cornetto and Carte d’Or.
Originally established in 1955, the plant is an important player in Hungary’s food industry and employs more than 500 people, making it one of the significant employers in the region.
“The ice cream market is increasingly shaped by new product formats and changing consumption occasions, meaning that ice cream has become a popular snack all year round. Investments like this one allow us to turn category-defining innovations into scalable solutions that support our long-term growth in European markets. By developing our production capacities, we ensure that our innovations reach consumers reliably and in volumes that meet the needs of today’s dynamically changing retail and snack markets,” said Péter Konecsni, managing director of The Magnum Ice Cream Company in Hungary and Eastern Europe.
As a result of the investment, production of Magnum Bonbon products will begin at the Veszprém plant. The premium, bite-sized ice cream format responds to growing consumer demand for smaller portions, shareable experiences and indulgent snacking options suited to different moments of the day, such as coffee breaks or shared desserts.
TMICC said production in Veszprém further strengthens its ability to deliver global innovations to multiple markets through reliable, high-quality manufacturing.
“This investment further strengthens our operational ability to produce more complex products consistently, precisely and reliably. It also builds on the expertise of our colleagues to ensure that we can deliver consistently high quality every day across numerous product categories and markets,” said József Török, managing director of TMICC’s Veszprém plant.
Amsterdam-based TMICC generated revenue of EUR 7.9 bln in 2025. The company serves consumers in 80 markets worldwide and operates 32 factories and 13 research and development centers, as well as a network of 3 million freezer cabinets.
The Veszprém plant plays a key role in transforming the company’s global innovation strategy into high-volume production, enabling new ice cream formats to be manufactured efficiently and supplied to several European markets.
The development further strengthens Hungary’s role in TMICC’s European manufacturing network and supports the company’s long-term growth strategy, which is built on innovation, new product formats and expanding ice cream consumption occasions.
TMICC said the Veszprém plant’s broad product format portfolio enables it to serve both domestic and export markets, helping new products reach the market efficiently and consistently.
The company said the plant’s performance supports its ability to combine global brand-building with reliable local manufacturing, ensuring that its innovations reach retail partners and consumers across Europe in large volumes and at consistently high quality.
